Broughty Ferry lifeboats race to save man after early-hours fall from Tay Road Bridge

A man was rescued by lifeboat from the River Tay off Dundee in the early hours the second incident of its kind in three days.
The Broughty Ferry lifeboat crew were roused about 3.15am this mornng to be told a young man was threatening to jump into the river from the Tay Road Bridge.
Both offshore and inshore boats were launched and raced to the scene where they found the man in the water.
The inshore crew were able to get him aboard their boat and then transferred him to the bigger offshore boat which took him back to the RNLI’s Broughty Ferry station.
He was then transferred into a waiting ambulance and taken to Ninewells Hospital.
There is no news on his condition.
It was the second time in three days that the boats were launched to rescue a man from the river off the road bridge.
