The BBC TV show Antiques Roadshow comes looking for treasure in St Andrews next month.
It has chosen the Fife town as a location for its 34th series, filming in St Salvator’s Quad on May 26.
Some of Britain’s leading antiques and fine arts specialists will offer advice and valuations and promise to see everyone who brings something along.
The team, including presenter Fiona Bruce, are hoping to discover some wonders when they arrive in Fife, given the success of a previous visit to Scotland.
Last year at Blair Castle, near Pitlochry, specialist Richard Price was shown an 1801 “touch watch” by Breguet which he described as the “finest watch I’ve ever seen on the roadshow.”
Series editor Simon Shaw said, “The team are all looking forward to visiting St Andrews. We regularly see between 1500 and 2000 visitors on the day.”
The filming will again see the quad broadcast to an audience of millions a month after the royal wedding.
The last series of the roadshow was watched by an average of six million viewers.
Doors will open at 9.30am and close at 4.30pm.
Those with large items can send details and photographs to antiques.roadshow@bbc.co.uk or Antiques Roadshow, BBC, Whiteladies Road, Bristol, BS8 2LR.
The series will be shown in autumn but a date for the St Andrews episode is yet to be released.
