Photo gallery: Pop-up point sends hens into retirement
ByThe Courier Reporter
The British Hen Welfare Trust held a pop up hen collection point in St Andrews at the weekend. Nearly 400 hens, who had come to the end of their eggstraordinary commercial laying life, are now happy hens, nesting in new homes with their new mother (and maybe father) hens to look after them. Photo shows volunteer Tracey Jolliffe with some of the hens heading for a relaxing retirement.
