There were beaming smiles all round when five generations came together in Fife to celebrate a very special new arrival.
Scarlett Shakespeare arrived in the world just days ago. Already she is the centre of much attention not least from the doting great-great-grandmother who is almost a century her senior.
Jessie Anderson celebrated her 99th birthday recently and declared the subsequent safe arrival of Scarlett as the best belated present she could ever have hoped for.
After being the centre of attention ever since her birthday, “Granny Jessie” is happy to let someone else hog the family limelight for a change.
There was a veritable cacophony of happy sound in the East Neuk village of Kilrenny as Jessie was joined by four younger generations for a party to celebrate Scarlett’s birth.
Making up the five generations are Jessie, Cecilia Anderson (72), Philip Anderson (52), Sarah Shakespeare (29) and Scarlett.
