A classic 80s television crimefighting team are reuniting on the stage in Dundee in May.

TV icons Dempsey and Makepeace, real life husband and wife Michael Brandon and Glynis Barber will perform the play Love Letters at the Rep Theatre from May 7-11.

Michael and Glynis met on the set of the TV crime drama where they played the oddball pairing of two police officers, street wise New Yorker Lieutenant James Dempsey and Sergeant (Lady) Harriet Makepeace.

Love Letters has played both on Broadway and in the West End and its seven performances at the Rep are their only current Scottish dates.

Direct from a sell-out run in Dubai, Love Letters maps a 50-year relationship between impulsive, rebellious Melissa Gardner and dependable, staid Andrew Makepeace Ladd III.

The play follows a lifetime of letter writing between the pair from their first exchange of thank-you notes and RSVPs.

Tickets are on sale at Dundee Rep Theatre box office, 01382 223530 or online at dundeerep.co.uk.
