Perth Festival under starter’s orders

Thousands of people are expected to descend on Perth Racecourse over the coming months when it stages a series of events, starting today with the Perth Festival.

The three-day event culminates with the Highland National Steeplechase.

Next up is the Heart of Scotland Beer Festival on May 14, which combines racing and UK craft beers, and the following day is Ladies’ Day, with £1,000 for the best dressed woman.

One of the highlights will be the City of Perth Gold Cup on June 8.

July 2 sees the start of Perth Racecourse’s summer holiday fixtures with Armed Forces Race Day. A further five family-friendly meetings will be staged, including Support Your Sport Race Day and Rock at the Races.

The Scotland Food and Drink Race Day on September 8 is one for foodies, featuring a farmers’ market, while the Glorious Finale finishes the season on September 24.
