The 17th century oil painting 'Christ displaying his wounds'.
A 17th century masterpiece of Italian art has gone on display at Perth Museum and Art Gallery.
Entitled Christ Displaying His Wounds, the oil painting is attributed to Giovanni Antonio Galli, who produced only a small number of works in his lifetime.
Only a handful of his paintings survive in Italy, making The Perth Christ a significant example of his art in the UK.
The work came into Perth Museum and Art Gallery’s collections in 1862 as a gift of Colonel William Macdonald Macdonald, Laird of St Martin’s, and will be on display to the end of the year.
