An Inverkeithing GP has helped to develop a website for people living with long-term illnesses.
The Living with my Condition in Fife website a partnership between NHS Fife, NHS Education for Scotland, Fife Council, local support groups and patient representatives combines a wealth of national and local health information.
It provides details of services for people with arthritis, cancer, diabetes, heart disease, mental health, neurology and respiratory conditions and there are plans to expand the website further.
Dr David Somerville, a GP at Inverkeithing Medical Group, was involved in the development of the project and said, “This website will prove useful to clinical staff and the public alike in clarifying information to help people manage their own health conditions.”
Marion Dye, area development worker for the Fife branch of the MS Society Scotland, who was also involved in the project, added, “This is an excellent resource. It is really good that the information is Fife-focused and all in one place and anyone can use it, plus it links you to all the relevant sites for local services.”Find out more at www.livingwithmycondition.org.uk
