Kevin Moon will be back in the St Johnstone squad to face St Mirren on Saturday.
And he will be joined by Chris Millar, who has shaken off a hip injury.
The midfielder has been jinxed for the last couple of years but is ready to play with a cast to protect a hand which has required surgery.
The playmaker broke a bone in it in the second game of the season against Dunfermline.
He said: “It happened in the first five minutes of the game and I knew there was a problem.
“But it needed surgery for a displaced and fractured bone. The surgeon inserted a metal plate.
“It is so frustrating after getting a start.”Patience neededHe added: “I felt I had done well enough in pre-season and got myself into the side.
“Now I might have to be patient again waiting on my chance.
“But I have been keeping myself ticking over in training.
“I just couldn’t risk any contact stuff before the start of this week.”
Moon said: “Jamie Adams has come in for Murray Davidson and has done very well.
“Chris Millar will also be back for the St Mirren game.
“It is great for the team to have so much competition for places.
“I just have to take the latest injury on the chin. At least it wasn’t serious as others in the past.”
