Dundee couldn’t have asked for a better start to their return season in the top flight.
The fixtures for the 2014/15 campaign have been announced and the Dark Blues don’t come up against a top four club from last term until match number five.
Their first four fixtures are Kilmarnock (H), Inverness Caledonian Thistle (A), Partick Thistle (H) and St Mirren (A).
Dundee United haven’t been so fortunate.
Their first three games are against top three clubs – Aberdeen (A), Motherwell (H) and Celtic (A).
The first city of Dundee derby is at Dens on Saturday September 20.
St Johnstone face Ross County (A) in their first fixture, with champions Celtic visiting McDiarmid Park the following midweek.
That will be new Celtic manager Ronny Deila’s first game in charge, as they don’t play on the opening weekend because of the Commonwealth Games.
