Mixu Paatelainen is set to be named as the new manager of Dundee United.
The Finn is expected to take over following the departure of Jackie McNamara from Tannadice last month.
The 48-year-old made 133 appearances for the Tangerines between 1987 and 1992 and had spells in charge of Hibernian, Kilmarnock, and Cowdenbeath before taking charge of the Finland national team.
Paatelainen was sacked by the Finnish FA in June following his fourth defeat in a row.
St Johnstone manager Tommy Wright and Inverness boss John Hughes were both previously linked with the United job.
