Mark Millar has vowed to use his loan spell at Falkirk to impress Dundee United boss Jackie McNamara after enduring a “frustrating” start to the campaign at Tannadice.

The midfielder has penned a three-month loan deal with the Championship outfit after falling out of favour at United, making just one appearance after suffering an injury in pre-season.

He has played just 21 times since making the move from Falkirk in the summer of 2012, and is now desperate to rediscover his top form back at the Bairns.

“The most important thing is I’ll be back playing it’s the most frustrating thing in the world not featuring on a Saturday,” said Millar.

“It is hard to complain too much because I was injured in pre-season and the boys that have come in have been brilliant, so it was always going to be hard to get back in to the team.

“But I’m desperate for game-time and to get fully fit, and hopefully show what I can do.”

Millar, 25, said he has not “thrown in the towel” at United, and aims to use his spell at the Falkirk Stadium to impress Tangerines boss Jackie McNamara.

“I have another season on my contract after this one and my aim is to play at the highest level I can,” he added.
