The windows of Edinburgh department store Jenners have been filled with the striking artwork of a Dundee University graduate.

The Island of Orkney and its Nordic links have been brought to life by Gina Ramsay for the displays, which were unveiled by First Minister Nicola Sturgeon.

They showcase the work of Orkney’s well-known jewellery designer Sheila Fleet, with whom Gina has been working as a graphic designer since she graduated from Duncan of Jordanstone.

“The sheer size of the windows made this project a challenge and different to anything I have illustrated before, but having such a vast canvas lent itself to being filled with all the life and beauty of Orkney,” said Gina, whose work adorns 10 windows.

Unveiling the display, the First Minister said: “These stunning windows by Gina Ramsay and the beautiful Sheila Fleet jewellery that they highlight are fantastic examples of the skill and craftsmanship alive in Scotland.

“I am certain that they will prove eye-catching to visitors.”
