A temporary 10mph speed limit has been brought into effect as part of works on the main road between Dundee and Aberdeen.
The overnight restriction has been put in place on the northbound A90 between the Murroes and Tealing junctions as Bear Scotland carries out £360,000 worth of resurfacing improvements.
The 10mph limit comes into effect between 7.30pm and 6.30am. Outwith these times the limit on the normally 70mph dual carriageway is 50mph.
However the lane closure remains in force at all hours of the day.
The resurfacing work started on Sunday and is predicted to last until Thursday, August 3.
Bear Scotland said the 10mph limit is there to keep workers “safe”.
Andy Thompson, the organisation’s north-east unit representative, said: “This investment from Transport Scotland will strengthen this section of the A90 and provide a smoother surface for motorists.
“We’ve taken steps to minimise disruption for motorists as much as possible during the improvements, including carrying out the works overnight and removing all traffic management during the weekends to further limit any impact to motorists.
” We’ve also planned this scheme to take place overnight during the school holidays when peak traffic flows are generally lower.
“We encourage motorists to plan their journeys in advance and allow some extra time to reach their destination.”
