Xplore Dundee’s new coach service between Dundee city centre and Edinburgh Airport is now available for booking.
The Edinburgh Airport Xpress officially launched on Sunday (June 9) under the Xplore More banner, with prices starting at £18 for an adult return. Concessionary passes are valid for use on the service and the coaches are also fully accessible, with a wheelchair lift.
The coach will be the first non-stop service from Dundee to the airport, delivering passengers straight to the terminal, ready for their flights – whether for business or pleasure.
Xplore Dundee has acquired four high-spec coaches and recruited 12 additional drivers to deliver the new route.
Managing Director Christine McGlasson said: “We’re really excited to bring this brand new service to Dundee. We’re pleased with the response to this new route so far – bookings have come in thick and fast since we announced it last month and we can’t wait to get it started.
We believe this will be a real boost for Dundee, helping local people get to and from their holiday destinations or business meetings, as well as providing easy access for visitors to Scotland into our great city.”
Gordon Dewar, Chief Executive of Edinburgh Airport echoed Christine’s hope and excitement for this new service: “The direct route offers customers a relaxing start to their holiday, knowing they’ll arrive outside the terminal before heading off on that family holiday, business trip or honeymoon”.
The Edinburgh Airport Xpress will run every 90 minutes, seven days a week, using luxury coaches to ensure comfortable seating and plenty of room for luggage.
Customer response to the news has been extremely positive, with some calling it a ‘godsend’ and a ‘game-changer’.
