David Cameron has called on Jeremy Corbyn to quit as Labour leader because it would be in the “national interest”.
The UK Labour boss has faced mutiny from his own MPs, with an overwhelming vote of no confidence delivered on Tuesday, but now has been told to go by the departing Prime Minister.
Mr Cameron announced on Friday he would stand down from his post following the UK’s decision to leave the European Union but will stay in Downing Street until a replacement appointed.

During Prime Minister’s Questions, he told Mr Corbyn: “It might be in my party’s interest for him to sit there, but it’s not in national interest. For heaven’s sake, man, go!”
Mr Corbyn looked ashen faced at the statement, which came at the end of the pair’s exchanges in the House of Commons.
He had asked about economic stability and a rise in a racist attacks following the Brexit vote.
Earlier, the UK Labour leader’s authority was further undermined when his new Education Secretary, Pat Glass, quit just two days after taking up the post.
