IN PICTURES: Hundreds attend Eid in the Park at Camperdown

Hundreds of people took to Camperdown Park yesterday to celebrate Eid al-Fitr in Camperdown park Dundee.

Now in its 10th year in Dundee, the Eid in the Park event marks the end of Ramadan, the season that sees Muslims fast for a month during daylight hours.

Hundreds of people attended the 2019 Eid in the Park in Dundee at the weekend.

The event at Camperdown Park, which has been running for ten years, attracted people from across Scotland.

Kashif Rashid, chairman of organisers YYI, said: “We have been doing this for 10 years and it keeps growing and growing.”

“It’s important for us to do this and bring our community together. We also want to invite people from all different communities to join us in this celebration. People from Perth, Kirkcaldy, Aberdeen and elsewhere come to Dundee for this so it’s a great day.”
