Prince Charles paid a welcome visit to Brechin to view the completed work on the town’s Merchant’s House.
The Duke of Rothesay made the engagement after the Prince’s Regeneration Trust, of which he is president, made funding available for the renovation work to be carried out.
The building has features which date back to the late 16th century but had become derelict and neglected following years of disuse.
The building now sits proudly refurbished in the town centre after the work was completed this year.
The prince was taken on a guided tour of the house by historic buildings specialist Kit Martin who owns the property and commissioned the PRT to help fund the project.
Charles was greeted by a number of dignitaries from Angus and people involved with the overall Townscape Heritage Initiative Group.
A crowd of around 100 people gathered outside in Brechin High Street to greet the Prince as he made his entrance into the house.
Some members of the crowd brought Union flag bunting and were very happy to welcome Charles to the town.
One of the royal enthusiasts, Barbara Watson, said: ”It’s absolutely brilliant just to see Prince Charles here. There’s so much history round here and it’s so exciting.”
