V&A at Dundee designer Kengo Kuma has arranged a second lecture in the city next month due to overwhelming public demand.
It was revealed last month that the Japanese architect will deliver his first public lecture in Scotland at Dundee University’s Dalhousie Building on May 21.
However, plans to open an offshoot of the Victoria and Albert museum in Dundee have grabbed the public imagination to such an extent that another date has been arranged because of the huge number of people wanting to attend.
A presentation of the same lecture has now been scheduled for 12.30pm that day to allow as many people to hear it as possible.
University external relations director Judith Barnard said, “It quickly became apparent that if we were to meet demand then we would need to invite Mr Kuma to give the lecture twice.
“Mr Kuma has very generously agreed to do this, so we are delighted that now hundreds more people will get to hear him speak.”
Mr Kuma’s public lecture is called The Answer Is Architecture and will explore the role that architecture has in connecting people to their environment.
Tickets are available from the university’s online store, www.buyat.dundee.ac.uk, or by calling the Events Office on 01382 385564.
