Drivers travelling on one of the main routes into Dunfermline will face disruption in the coming weeks.
The northbound carriageway of the A823 Queensferry Road will be closed to allow resurfacing works to go ahead.
Work on the stretch between Pitreavie Way and Grange Drive will start on Monday April 11 and will take three weeks.
Road closures will be in place from 9.30am to 3pm, when there will be a signed diversion route along Pitreavie Way and Grange Drive.
To ease traffic flow, there will be parking restrictions on Pitreavie Way and Grange Drive when the road is closed.
Elsewhere, residents in Cupar have been experiencing lengthy tailbacks due to temporary traffic lights as improvements are carried out on the A914 South Road to the South Bridge railway crossing in Cupar.
Works will last for up to three weeks, and will see carriageway resurfacing, footway widening outside the Golf Tavern and the creation of signals on the existing crossing outside Tesco.
Buses face delays at peak times.
Kevin Smith, consultant engineer, said: “We’ve taken the decision to coordinate three different projects at the same time for these works, to limit repeated visits to this area over the coming months. We also brought forward the recent gas works to avoid excavations into our new surfacing.”
Fife Council apologised for any inconvenience.
