Hundreds joined the long and sad funeral procession for Kirkcaldy man Sheku Bayoh on June 7, five weeks after his death in police custody. The funeral cortege began its solemn procession from Hayfield Road, on the spot where he was restrained and lost consciousness. They walked to Kirkcaldy police station where they held a silent and peaceful protest. Prayers were said for Sheku at the Kirkcaldy Islamic Centre Mosque before he was taken to Dysart Muslim cemetery.
