Cowdenbeath manager Colin Nish is hoping that his side can shake off the effects of playing seven games in 24 days and be ready to see off visitors Airdrie today.
Nish wants his men to be upbeat against the Lanarkshire side despite their heavy schedule.
He said: “We may well be struggling for numbers as the amount of recent games is affecting us, however I want us to go out and win.
“It has been Saturday midweek – Saturday for a few weeks now and we were showing the signs of that at Ayr on Tuesday.
“We did well at Stenhousemuir last Saturday however we were not as good at Somerset Park as we had a few boys missing and a few boys not fully fit.
“Despite the 4-1 defeat there were positives to take. We were against the wind and were three down at half-time but the players came out and pinned Ayr back at the start of the second half.
“The players could have gone into a shell but they saw things out with no further damage. That gives us something to build up for this game.”
With only Saturday games to look forward to now Nish added: “Airdrie are a side that tend not to lose a lot of goals however we beat them 3-0 at our place earlier in the season and a repeat of that would be good. We also played well at their place in the two other games. We got nothing to show for them so it would be good to get another win to balance that out.”
Mo Yacub is available again however Fraser Kerr and Aldin El-Zubaidi are out, with Kyle Miller and Liam Callaghan not ready to return after knocks.
