One of the busiest roads through Angus was partly closed by police to allow an HGV involved in a collision to be recovered on Thursday.
The A90 Dundee to Aberdeen road was shut for several hours near Brechin due to the operation to remove the lorry, which jack-knifed near the by-pass at about 9.45am last Thursday.
Firefighters, police and paramedics were called to the scene after HGV driver Carl Greenway suffered a broken vertebrae in his lower back and became trapped in the cab of the vehicle.
Traffic was diverted through Brechin as the recovery operation took place.
The A90 southbound was closed between the A935 at the St Ann’s junction and the B966 at the Edzell turnoff.
It fully reopened at about 4pm.
Earlier, a police spokesman said: “The A90 is currently closed southbound between the A935 St Anns junction and the B966 Edzell junction, to allow for recovery of an HGV that was involved in an incident a few days ago. Traffic is being diverted through Brechin.
“This is hopefully only going to be for about an hour or so, but please be aware that there may be some delays in the area.”
Traffic Scotland posted: “The A90 southbound at Brechin is closed due to an ongoing police incident.
“Motorists are advised to approach with caution and use the signed diversion.”
