Making the grade at Fife engineering firm

Two more apprentices from Fife-based DPS Group have qualified from their courses and will secure full-time roles within the business.

The Glenrothes electrical, instrumentation and control engineering company employs 70 people.

It has a strong track record in giving opportunities to apprentices to learn the skills and experience needed to build a successful career in the industry, having engaged 20 apprentices over the last ten years.

Craig Ogilvie will now take up a control system technician role and Harry Clark will be an electrical technician.

DPS Group director Colin Burnett said: “We congratulate both Craig and Harry for the successful completion of their apprenticeships.

“They’ve worked hard and have grown with DPS Group. Supporting apprentices is a key part of what we do at DPS Group.

“Nurturing our own talent ensures the best possible training and the best possible habits. Ultimately, our clients benefit from strong service and outstanding attention to detail.”

Fellow director Martin Brownlee added: “Investing in people is vital to the success of DPS Group.

“If we don’t give staff the opportunity to learn and grow then our business isn’t best placed to move forward.

“We’ve seen the success of our apprenticeship programmes over the last few years, and like those before them, I’m sure that Harry and Craig will go on to have a positive career with DPS Group.”

Craig Ogilvie said: “I’ve enjoyed my apprenticeship with DPS Group. We’ve worked hard, learned a lot and been plenty of opportunities to develop.

“I’m excited to start the next chapter of my career here.”

Harry Clark commented: “I’ve been able to develop a strong skillset by working hard and benefitting from the opportunities that DPS Group has provided us.

“Hopefully, if we continue to work hard, I can progress here.”
