Perthshire is in for a double treat on Saturday and Sunday when four of Scotland’s top folk singers and musicians recreate the Scottish folk scene of the 1960s and 1970s with the return of Auld Hat New Heids concerts in Comrie and Auchterarder.

Pete Clark, Gregor Lowrey, Fraser Bruce and Ian Bruce will pay tribute to the days when there was a folk club in practically every town in Scotland with renditions of songs that live on and on.

“This show relives a typical night at a folk club 50 years ago with lots of humour and chorus singing,” said Fraser.

“Auld Hat – New Heids 2018 is a constantly changing show featuring songs popular in the 1960s/70s but not heard so often these days.

“The songs are predominantly Scottish and people from the early days of ‘folk’ are remembered like The Corries, Robin Hall and Jimmy McGregor, Ewan MacColl and Hamish Henderson: Some no longer with us but some still strutting their stuff!

“It is just a fun night out , the way folk music was a will be again.”
