Eve Muirhead and Eilish McColgan have been nominated for Scottish Sports Awards following their heroics in 2022.

Courier columnist Eve led her all-Scots team to Olympic curling gold in Beijing and has been nominated in both the team of the year and moment of the year categories.

But the star pair aren’t the only athletes from Tayside and Fife whose sterling  performances over the last year have been recognised.

Dundonian boxer Sam Hickey thrilled fans in his home city – and all around Scotland – by winning middleweight gold at the Commonwealth Games.
