Green Day have apologised to fans after their show in Glasgow was called off at the last minute.
The band were due to play in Glasgow’s Bellahouston Park tonight, with thousands of fans purchasing tickets.
However rumours began circulating that the Independence Day show had been called off this morning.
“Adverse weather conditions” was blamed for the show being called off, with the venue deemed “no longer safe for the bands to perform”.
Green Day have taken to their blog to say: “Glasgow, we are very sad to report that our show today at Bellahouston Park has been cancelled.
“The local safety council, production crew, and concert organizers have deemed the stage unsafe for the fans and everyone involved.

“We are very distraught about this as we are in Glasgow now and were very much looking forward to this show as one the highlights of our tour.
“We have been playing in extreme weather conditions throughout this European tour, and the last thing we want to do is see a show cancelled.
“We love our Scottish fans and we don’t care if its raining f**king sideways, although the safety of our fans and our crew is always our top priority.
“We love you Scotland, we love the city of Glasgow and it goes without saying that WE WILL BE BACK!”
Promoters PCL Presents has tweeted that fans will be refunded within 10 working days.

Rancid, Slaves and The Skids were all due to support Green Day, who have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
However the show is going on for Slaves, who have announced they will play an impromptu gig at Glasgow’s O2 ABC venue alongside Baby Strange tonight instead.
