Liam Gallagher will play a solo gig in the north-east this winter.

As reported in The Press and Journal, the former Oasis frontman is coming to P&J Live in Aberdeen on Thursday, November 14 as part of his tour of the UK and the rest of Europe.

The last time he took to the stage in the city was with the band in 2008, one year before they split.

Louise Stewart – head of entertainment, exhibitions and marketing for P&J Live – said: “We are thrilled to announce Liam Gallagher is coming to P&J Live – one of only two Scottish dates on his UK tour.

“This will be Liam’s first solo gig in Aberdeen and we are sure his fans from across the north-east will flock to P&J Live for the chance to see one of the most charismatic and controversial pop artists today performing live.

“Bringing Liam here once again underlines the drawing power of P&J Live and we look forward to welcoming many more world-class acts in future.”

Tickets go on sale on Friday, July 12 and are expected to sell out fast.

Gallagher is performing on the Pyramid stage at Glastonbury on Saturday night.

He headlined the festival in 2004 with Oasis – an experience he has admitted he “hated”. The singer got a mixed reception from fans because he was using in-ear monitors.

He told BBC 6 Music on Thursday: “With those in-ear things you just feel like you’re in the studio, and you can’t have that.

“You need the interaction, you need the vibe, so yeah, it was horrible, I didn’t like it.”

The ex-Oasis star said he enjoyed all his other performances at Worthy Farm but admitted he could not recall much about his first Glastonbury gig, when the band performed on the NME stage in 1994.

“I remember having really bad hay fever because I get that bad, and I had these shades on and I was thinking, ‘This is gonna be a nightmare’,” he said.

“But I don’t remember much about the gig. In fact I don’t remember anything about the gig.”
