Each week, we will take you on a trip back in time with a selection of photographs picked from DC Thomson’s vast archives. This week, the focus is on Cupar.
Our first image shows 18-year-old Anne Neville packing sugar at the town’s sugar beet factory. The photo was taken in October 1955.
The second photo dates from July 2 1967 and shows a British Sugar Corporation tanker about to offload at the town’s sugar factory.
In the third picture, from May 3 1968, rugby internationalist Dave Rollo is shown at home with his wife and daughter. Dave was also a farmer at Wester Forret, just outside the town.
The fourth photo shows the town’s DC Thomson offices in 1946. The titles advertised were the Courier & Advertiser, People’s Journal, The Sunday Post and Evening Telegraph and Post.
The fifth picture, from September 18 1971, shows a scene from the town’s Crossgate.
The final photo shows the arena at Fife Agricultural Show, which was held at Elmwood College Farm. The picture was taken on May 18 1972.
