St Johnstone have signed Celtic left-back Adam Montgomery on loan.
The 19-year-old, who spent time with Aberdeen last season, is manager Callum Davidson’s fourth summer recruit, following on from the deals announced for Andy Considine and Drey Wright and the soon-to-be-announced one for Graham Carey.
Neither Tony Gallacher not Callum Booth is likely to be fit for the start of the season so Davidson has moved to plug the gap at left wing-back or left-back, depending on which system he deploys early in the campaign.

But the Celtic academy product came through the ranks as an attacker and will add to the Perth boss’s options further forward once the other two left-sided players return from injury.
Montgomery actually made his Celtic debut against Saints in the 4-0 win for the Hoops at the end of the 2020/21 season.
The Scotland under-21 international was sent on loan to Pittodrie in January  and went straight into Stephen Glass’s side.
But a hamstring injury impacted on the remainder of his time with Aberdeen, who were in freefall under Glass’s successor, Jim Goodwin.
Montgomery is set to fly out to Spain to join his new team-mates at their pre-season training camp in Murcia.
