Frustrated motorists will no longer be able to dodge A9 roadworks near Luncarty by weaving through back routes.
Police and representatives from Luncarty, Redgorton and Moneydie Community Council lambasted drivers who left the dual carriageway at Denmarkfield to bypass the 40mph speed limit.
Yesterday new lockable gates were installed on the farm road.
Signs to alert drivers there is no shortcut will be put up soon.
A community council spokesperson said: “Gates are being installed today at Waulkmill crossroads and near Denmarkfield Farm following the significant increase in traffic using this route as a result of the A9 roadworks.”
