Imagine if your mum, or gran, or any family member for that matter, decided to set up their own stall at a craft fair… only to not sell a single thing.
You’d be pretty devastated for them, wouldn’t you? You know you would be.
That’s exactly what happened to Twitter user Martyn’s mother and the internet’s hearts collectively broke when they read his tweet.
My mum has set up her own stall at a craft fair and has messaged me to say she hasn’t sold anything yet and my heart is breaking pic.twitter.com/cdzHn77pM5

But all was not lost because Martyn’s mother may have had no luck at the craft fair, but she has a Depop shop.
I've just found out she has her own Depop shop, I'm obsessed pic.twitter.com/V8GOTB54hb

One of Martyn’s friends bought a glove monster – the shop’s first ever sale.
My heart is melting, thank you @LiamLambrini for being her first customer pic.twitter.com/m7xjNDz9Cc

And after that, the orders kept on coming. “Just sold three hearts! Yay!,” Figen Murray said in a text to her son.
Omg guys please continue to buy things, THIS MAKES ME SO HAPPY. Her shop is here: https://t.co/wjSvW7sxVQ pic.twitter.com/iQ0WL4qW3Z

Then came the day when Figen sold nine items in one hour.
What a beautiful end to this story ??? I'm weeping. KEEP THE DREAM ALIVE HERE >> https://t.co/wjSvW7aX4i pic.twitter.com/wnHpNdPq0i

The deliveries seem to have gone far and wide.

People have since been sharing their knitted wonders, and just showing general interest in the crafts.

@glenrules @martynhett Is it possible to have a lovely teddy like this one shipped to Brazil? I really want it!

So really, what with all this love on Twitter, it’s no surprise that Figen has now sold out of everything on her Depop shop.
@martynhett I just went to her shop and everything is sold! pic.twitter.com/KaHhYtRN8I

Don’t worry though – Martyn said she will be restocking soon.
@Scientits haha I know! I believe she's been frantically restocking this weekend so there should be new stuff up soon :)
— Martyn ? (@martynhett) December 4, 2016
Yep, Figen now has a lot more knitting to do and we can all rest easy in the knowledge that the days of not selling anything she makes are far behind her.
Met up with me mam for the first time since her viral fame. She's stocked up on materials and has had a very busy weekend knitting ?? pic.twitter.com/fCO0fqoVnh

Figen took to Twitter to confirm she’s going to be busy creating new stock.
Hi kind people. I am absolutely drowning in orders. Will have more teddies mid January at the latest. Ship worldwide but more postage
— Figen Murray (@FigenMurray) December 5, 2016
Hi all I will be making more teddies over Christmas period. Please be patient. They take a couple of days to make. ?
— Figen Murray (@FigenMurray) December 6, 2016
You enjoy your new fanbase, Figen. You deserve it.
Omg she's bought this book to help her cope with her new followers/fanbase on twitter ?? I just love her pic.twitter.com/9R1pUmlYt9
