A man drunkenly mooned CCTV operators after they caught him knocking over Christmas trees in Perth city centre.
Gary Stewart, 28, admitted dropping his trousers and baring his buttocks at the camera after he shoved the five-foot trees and tried to overturn bins on the city’s High Street.
Solicitor Paul Ralph his client had heard the whirring of the CCTV camera and realised that the operator was focusing in on him.
Sheriff William Wood heard that, in November last year, police had attended the scene when a call was made regarding youths drinking in the area.
Officers were informed by CCTV operators that Stewart was knocking over bins and Christmas trees.
Mr Ralph said he his client had knocked over four Christmas trees, which were not decorated and stood between four and five feet in height.
He said: “He heard a whirring of a camera focusing in on him. This was not done to passers-by.”
Sheriff Wood said: “This was some sort of drunken jaunt.
“There were various errors of judgement. Having come to the attention of police earlier on in the evening you should have known better than to lose control to that extent.”
Stewart, of Skinnergate House, Perth, admitted that on November 25 last year, he pulled Christmas trees to the ground, repeatedly attempted to overturn refuse bins, overturned a refuse bin, exposed his naked buttocks and committed a breach of the peace.
He was sentenced to 90 hours unpaid work.
