Paedophile hunters challenge Fife creep outside court after he admits sex chat with ‘child’

A Fife man was challenged by paedophile hunters outside court after he admitted sex chats with a decoy 13-year-old girl.

Milos Vodika admitted communicating indecently with what he thought was a child on WhatsApp between April and May last year.

One “decoy” member of paedophile hunting group Justice For Kids gave evidence about a profile she ran on adult dating site Just Say Hi.

Vodika, of Orkney Place in Kirkcaldy, was midway through a trial at the town’s sheriff court when he pled guilty.

A not guilty plea was accepted to a charge he attempted to meet with the “child” at Inverkeithing Railway Station.

Trial began

The court heard evidence from unemployed “paedophile hunter” Angela McGovern.

The 37-year-old had set up a decoy account on the dating site in the name of a fictional child from her home in Balloch, West Dunbartonshire.

She said Vodika, 52, had contacted her and she identified herself as a 13-year-old girl.

When he continued the conversation, she told him she was speaking with friends on Whatsapp and he suggested moving the conversation there.

“He told me his name was Milo,” she told fiscal depute Jill Currie.

“Milo did say ‘does your mum know you’re on here?’

“He then asked for the child’s mobile number and he added the child on WhatsApp.”

Pled guilty

However, her evidence was cut short when Vodika’s plea was offered during a break in proceedings.

Vodika, originally from the Czech Republic, was aided in the dock by an interpreter.

He admitted he went on to send sexual messages and attempt to communicate indecently with a child.

His plea stated he did so for the purpose of sexual gratification or humiliating, distressing or alarming his victim.

The court was told he had no previous analogous convictions.

Sheriff Derek Reekie released Vodika on his existing bail, which includes internet restrictions.

Another hearing was fixed for September 13.

Vodika was placed on the Sex Offenders Register.

As he left the court building, he was challenged by the witnesses who had been stood down and were waiting outside.
