Dundee United manager Robbie Neilson believes he can still seal a deal for winger Elliott Frear.
The former Motherwell player had been training with the Tangerines and looked to be signing for them a couple of weeks ago.
However, it all went a bit quiet and that raised doubts over Frear’s recruitment by Neilson.
However, the United boss has revealed that the 28-year-old Englishman may yet be waving the ubiquitous scarf above his head at Tannadice.
Neilson said: “We tried to get him in earlier in the month.
“The way things worked out we just couldn’t quite do it but we are still hopeful of doing it.
“It is like (that) with transfers – they take time.”
