St Johnstone striker Steven MacLean believes booking a place in continental competition becomes tougher each season.
But the Perth club, who sit fourth in the Premiership, are again on the brink of another pop at the Europa League.
That possibility remains despite a 4-1 loss to Celtic on an afternoon where MacLean himself briefly stunned Parkhead to level the game early in the second half.
MacLean was not too disheartened with the loss as full focus now turns to the final push for Europe.
“Every year we keep achieving European football, it becomes a better achievement each time,” he said.
“We’ve got a bit of work to do, but, hopefully, we’ll achieve it and get a good draw for a European adventure.
“We spoke to the chairman (Steve Brown) at the start of the season about our bonuses.
“We made the point to him (that Rangers being back made it harder to get into Europe) and it’s going to be harder again next season too.
“If we are achieving Europe, the chairman is happy to pay it out.”
