A four-bedroom property in Fife is up for sale for just £50,000.

The price for the lower cottage flat in Methil makes it the cheapest four-bedroom property for sale in Fife, according to online property portal Rightmove.

The property at 34 Kirkland Walk is in need of a full renovation throughout.

As such, it is hoped it might catch the eye of a buyer looking for a DIY project.

The four-bedroom property also features a lounge and family bathroom.

Its kitchen has French doors which lead to a generously-sized rear garden. There is another garden to the front.

Potential of £50k four-bedroom Fife flat

Auction House Scotland managing director Mandi Cooper said: “Anybody who has watched BBC’s Homes Under the Hammer will know just how beneficial buying a property at an auction can be.

“Houses that go under the hammer can not only be bought at a much cheaper price, but each home is often run down.

“That means potential buyers can renovate it and build upon a blank canvas to really make it their own.

“This flat is an excellent example of this and has the potential to become a great home to live in, especially for those looking to be close to the beautiful Fife coast!”

The flat will be going to online auction on December 6. Potential buyers can bid for the lot via eBay style bidding.

Bidding opens at 1pm on December 5 and will close on December 6 at 1.34pm.

Ms Cooper hopes it may also be of interest to a landlord in search of their next investment.

She added: “Landlords in search of their next investment or someone looking to get on the buy-let-ladder might be drawn to the flat’s potential annual rental income of £10,000 per year following completion of the renovation works.”

An open viewing will take place between 10am and 10.30 on Monday.
