“Horrendous” delays of 75 minutes being reported around new Queensferry Crossing

The 40mph limit will eventually rise to 70mph, with the Queensferry Crossing classed as motorway.

Huge delays of up 75 minutes are being reported around the new Queensferry Crossing.

The £1.35 billion bridge across the River Forth began welcoming motorists in the wee hours of Wednesday morning following six years of construction.

However Traffic Scotland is reporting delays of between 65 and 75 minutes on approaches onto the crossing northbound from the Spur Road.

Congestion is also backing up to the village of Crossgates on the M90 Perth to Edinburgh road southbound, with delays of between 45 and 50 minutes in this direction.
