Police are hunting two youths who shattered the windscreen of a bus after throwing a traffic cone yesterday afternoon in Dundee.
The incident happened at 1.35pm in Meadowside near the junction with Bell Street.
A number 29 Xplore Dundee bus was travelling up Meadowside when it was struck by a traffic cone which had been thrown from an upper level of the Wellgate multi-storey car park.
The bus was apparently moving slowly, however the windscreen was shattered and the driver showered with glass. Nobody was injured.
Witnesses have informed officers that two male youths were seen to throw the cone before running off.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “CCTV is being checked and enquiries are being made with local schools, however we would still like to hear from anyone who say two youths running in the Wellgate / Meadowside / Victoria Road area around this time.
“Officers want to trace two persons described as white males in their mid-teens, both wearing dark clothing and either wearing beanie-style hats or with hoods pulled up and tied tight.
“We cannot overstate how dangerous this reckless behaviour was. The cone has travelled a long distance from a great height, and if it had struck a person, they would have been very seriously injured or potentially killed.
