Local roads reopen almost two days on from major snowfall

Two roads forced to close due to snow during Storm Deirdre have reopened.

The A93 Perth to Braemar road at the Spittal of Glenshee and the B974 Fettercairn to Strachan/Cairn O’ Mount route both reopened on Monday morning.

A93 NOW RE-OPENED AT GLENSHEEThe road is now sufficiently clear to be fully re-opened to all vehicles.

They were forced to close on Saturday evening as blizzards hit much of Scotland.

On Monday at noon, police confirmed the A93 was “sufficiently clear” for vehicles.

A number of crashes took place across Tayside and Fife as Storm Deirdre brought heavy snow, rain and wind to the local area.

Parts of Perthshire, including Kinloch Rannoch, saw major snowfall – with the A9 Perth to Inverness road badly affected by the wintry conditions on Saturday.
