The annual Dundee University art school degree show launches this month, with the university looking to showcase the “emerging talent” of their graduands.
Dundee University is hoping that those showcasing at the exhibition can go on to become industry leaders in art and design, emulating past graduates whose work has become world renowned.
Previous students include Turner Prize winner Susan Phillipsz and animator Matt Cameron, who worked on films in the Star Wars series.
Over 15,000 people visited last year’s degree show, which the university estimates generated an excess of £1.5 million for the local economy.
Professor Jeanette Paul, Acting Dean of Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design, said: “At the start of another Degree Show season, I look forward to being amazed and inspired once again by the breath-taking work and products our students have created.
“It is hard to describe how exciting and vibrant a time this is for everyone involved, not least the students who have poured their heart and soul into their work over several years.
“Graduates of the University may become practising artists or they may go on to work in film, games and animation studios. They might find themselves working with some of the world’s largest tech companies or leading the next big start-ups.”
The exhibition will open to the public on Saturday May 21, with a family and friends launch the evening before.
