The average winning Strictly couple has a male celebrity, female dancer and are aged 30… and their performance to date only confirms their chances!
With Strictly fever set to grip the nation, a full study of 13 years of the show indicates that singer Aston Merrygold and dance partner Jannette Manara are statistically the most likely to walk away with this year’s Glitterball.
The research from BonusCodeBets.co.uk looked the performances and characteristics of the winning celebrities across all 14 series of the show and found that statistically the winning couple:
- Is led by a male celebrity, aged 30
- Is supported by a female dancer, aged 30
- Features a TV presenter (five winners are television hosts out of the 14 series – 36%) or otherwise a musician or sportsman
- Must score an average of 34 points a dance throughout the 2017 series
This data indicates that Aston, 29, and Jannette, 33, are most likely to triumph with singer Alexandra Burke, 29, hot on their heels.
Alexandra famously beat Aston in the 2008 X Factor final and the London lass has seen her chances of taking the trophy increase after she was coupled with dancer Gorka Márquez, 27, meaning that her coupling gives her a great chance of topping the leadership board.
Meanwhile actress and former glamour model Gemma Atkinson and her handsome hunk Aljaž Škorjanec are also in position to top the leader board thanks to their ages, 32 and 27 respectively.
The research from BonusCodeBets.co.uk found that when it comes to professions, TV presenters perform best meaning that Charlotte Hawkins and comedian-cum-host Susan Calman, both aged 42, are in good place to perform well in the series.
Comedians, radio presenters and politicians (like last year’s fan-favourite Ed Balls) are amongst the careers to never to have won the Strictly crown.
Alexander Kostin of Bonus Code Bets commented: “Our research shows that age really can influence a final placing in Strictly with the average age of both celebrities and actors being 30. Interestingly the average age of celebrities in the show this year is 41, meaning that the younger contestants such as Aston and Jannette and Alexandra and Gorka have an even stronger chance of winning Strictly 2017.”
