Live Active is getting creative to help members stay active and feel connected during the lockdown.

With gyms closed, Live Active memberships are now frozen. Direct debit membership payments have been automatically frozen and will also be lifted automatically once the gyms reopen, and anyone with an annual membership will automatically receive an extension.

But whilst you can’t get to their gyms in person, you can still benefit from Live Active’s expertise and enjoy a little workout inspiration – all from your home.

Here are just a few ways you can get involved.

1 Keep having fun

With Easter holiday activities and classes at Live Active gyms now cancelled, you might be looking for ways to keep the kids occupied.

Luckily you’ll find some fun ideas on Live Active’s Facebook – they recently shared a link to a short Move Like An Avengers video designed to get your wee superheroes moving!

2. Work on your technique

Over the coming weeks, Live Active’s personal trainers and fitness gurus will be sharing short videos on common exercises like a plank or a push up – all so you can keep working out safely!

They’re also sharing some fun fitness inspiration, too, like their recent 90s-style workout or Mrs Hinch inspired video, above – why should the kids get all the fun, after all.

3. Get fit with Les Mills

You don’t have to give up your gym classes just because Live Active’s centres are closed.

Check in online to take part in your favourite Les Mills, BodyPump and Circuits group workouts from your home.

4 Look after your body

As well as fitness advice, Live Active will also be sharing lots of other practical tips and helpful articles to help you look after your body during the next few weeks.

From canned food recipe ideas to stretches and chair-based exercises, there’s something for everyone.

5 Focus on wellbeing

Live Active’s Wellbeing Team are just as busy as ever ensuring everyone feels connected and supported in their local communities.

They’ll be reaching out to people over the coming weeks and will also be sharing some helpful resources via their friends at SAMH, including advice for anyone struggling with the current coronavirus situation.

Follow Live Active on Facebook for inspiration and advice on staying active at home, or find out more online here.
