This scrumptious selection from the DC Thomson Shop, worth £64.50, is up for grabs in the first of our monthly food and drink competitions.

Smoked salmon is one of Scotland’s most successful food exports, appreciated the world over for its unique texture and flavour.

Now you have a chance to win a hamper from the DC Thomson Shop full of some of the country’s finest produce from Mey Selections, an initiative set up by Prince Charles, Duke of Rothesay, in 2005, to support local businesses.

Located at the head of Loch Fyne on the West Coast of Scotland, the salmon is renowned for its quality and is exclusively sourced from GlobalGAP-accredited farms located around the West Highlands and Islands of Scotland.

The salmon is smoked using traditional methods, handed down through generations, then filleted and dry cured by hand with a sea salt and brown sugar recipe, unique to the Mey Selections brand. Washed with purified spring water from the hills above the smokehouse, it is then smoked by burning oak chips from retired whisky casks.
