A lorry driver has appeared in court charged with causing a Dundee man’s death by dangerous driving in an Angus road accident.
Witold Solski, 65, died after his car was in a collision with an articulated lorry on the A90 near Brechin last year.
Glenn Craib, from Elgin, appeared in private at Forfar Sheriff Court in connection with Mr Solski’s death on November 25.
The 45-year-old appeared on petition, facing a charge under section 1 of the Road Traffic Act 1988.
Craib, a heavy goods vehicle driver, made no plea or declaration, was released on bail, and his case was continued for further examination.
A date for his next appearance has yet to be confirmed.
Mr Solski was cut free from the wreckage of his Skoda by firefighters but was pronounced dead at the roadside a short time later.
He was driving between Forfar and Brechin when the collision took place on the northbound carriageway near to the Careston/Balnabreich junction.
A 30-year-old female passenger in the car was taken to Ninewells hospital in Dundee but was not seriously injured.
