An elderly man remains in a “critical” condition following a crash near Forfar.
Police Scotland have appealed for witnesses following the accident between a car and a van on the A90.
The accident happened at 1.10pm and involved a bronze Honda car and a Transit van.
A police spokesman said: “The driver and sole occupant of the Honda was treated at the scene before being taken to Ninewells Hospital for further treatment.
“He is described as being in a critical condition. The driver of the van was fortunately not injured.
“One lane of the road was closed to allow a full enquiry to take place, and the road was fully reopened by 6pm.”
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson confirmed: “We received a call at 1.15pm to attend a road traffic collision on the A90, Forfar.
“One ambulance came across the incident and one ambulance was dispatched to the scene. One male patient in his eighties was taken to Ninewells Hospital.”
Police Scotland are carrying out a full investigation and are appealing for witnesses.
