Organisers of a major cat show have pulled the plug on plans to make Angus their first foray north of the border.
The London Cats International Show had been scheduled to visit Arbroath Community Centre on the weekend of September 28/29.
Organisers had hoped for an entry of more than 100 cats in a variety of different classes, but blamed “unforeseen circumstances” for the cancellation of the event.
The event is associated with The International Cat Association (TICA), which sanctions hundreds of shows annually in more than 100 countries across the globe and is the largest registry of pedigree and household pet cats in the world, with more than 70 breeds.
Promoters had promised Arbroath visitors the chance to see rarities including the so-called werewolf cat, the Lykoi breed developed in United States.
Judges from Europe and America were due to attend.
A London Cats spokesperson said their next planned show will be held in Blackpool next month.
