Three 15-year-old boys have been charged in connection with an alleged £20,000 vandalism rampage in Dundee.
Another boy the same age has been reported to the youth justice assessor in connection with the incidents, which occurred in the Law and Hilltown areas of Dundee in July.
Police launched a major probe after cars, allotments and greenhouses were all allegedly targeted on Sunday, Jully 3.
A police spokeswoman said: “Police Scotland can confirm that three boys aged 15 have been charged and been reported to the youth justice assessor in connection with a series of vandalisms that took place in Law and Hilltown areas of Dundee on Sunday July 3.
“A further 15-year-old will also be reported to the youth justice assessor in due course and inquiries are continuing.”
It had been claimed that a gang of up to six youths had damaged more than 20 vehicles and set fire to sheds at the Law allotments in the alleged early-morning incident.
Residents said they had seen a group of people in the areas of Law Road, Kinghorne Road, Stirling Avenue, and Stirling Street around 4.30am.
It was claimed that some cars had their front and back windows smashed in.
One resident, Jim Dolan, 69, described the damage as “abominable” and “a mess”.
He said: “It is normally a really quiet place. It is mostly pensioners that live around here.”
Fences were also said to have been pulled down and greenhouses damaged in the alleged vandalism spree.
In the aftermath, one local resident launched a campaign to have CCTV installed in the area, following concerns from locals about safety and crime.
The city council also increased patrols from community safety wardens in the area.
