Vandals who broke into a Dundee primary school and stole a laptop returned to give the computer back – by smashing through the windows for the second time.
The louts broke windows at St Luke’s and St Matthew’s Primary School on Tuesday night, just hours after they’d been repaired following the previous wrecking spree over the weekend – which also saw the roof being spray-painted and the curtains burned.
The stolen laptop was returned to the school on Longhaugh Road in a wrecked condition.
Dundee’s education convener Stewart Hunter slammed the “deplorable” attack on the school.
He said: “I’ve had a meeting with the head teacher of the school and I’m just very disappointed that this has happened.
“Any attack on any school is disappointing, but to have this happen for the second time in a matter of days is deplorable.
“This is a fantastic school with a great head teacher, staff and pupils, so it’s heartbreaking to see it vandalised like this.
“The majority of pupils love their school and are proud of it, so they will be devastated to see it damaged.
“Someone in the community must know something about this and I urge them to come forward so that we can ensure it doesn’t happen again.”
Police launched an investigation after the first incident, which is said to have taken place between 4.30pm on Saturday and 8.30am on Monday.
They had not responded for further comment at the time of publishing.
