Dundee’s Almost Blue live music weekend has been hailed a success after returning to the city for a sixth year.

A range of bands including Backlash, Wire&Wool, Sin City Blues, Little Miss Debby and the G-men and performers such as Ed Muirhead on the piano lit up stages around the city.

Over 20 venues hosted the musicians, including Doc Ferry’s, Number 57, Redd, Bank Bar, Globe, Klozet, McDaniels, Dukes, Bar 15, Beer Kitchen, No. 1, Balcony, Rewind, Laings, Salty Dog, Westport Bar, Clark’s, Beat Generator Live,
Bush, Arctic Bar, Old Bank Bar, Fort Hotel and others.

Organiser Alan Wilson said: “It’s been an absolutely brilliant weekend, very enjoyable with good crowds and everyone was having a great time and creating a superb atmosphere around town.

“The weather stayed fine too, which always adds to the feelgood factor and people were well behaved and just wanting to enjoy themselves.

“The music of course has been excellent, so many great bands playing great music and really rocking the venues.

“I’m delighted with the positive feedback we have had on our Facebook page, there have been lots of nice comments and messages from everybody which is a good reflection on all the hard work and organisation from a small group of people.”

The events were held on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, starting in the afternoon and going on throughout the night.

Almost Blue has grown significantly since it was first set up in 2012, when it was only held in two venues in the city.
